How BRICS Youth Alliance handles the information you provide for the Rising Youth Summit 2026.
Last updated 12 August 2026. This notice describes our current practices for this event; it should be reviewed by your legal adviser before the Summit opens to the public.
Who we are
The Rising Youth Summitis organised by BRICS Youth Alliance (“we”, “us”), the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at secretariat@bricsyouthalliance.org.
What we collect
- Registration details you submit: name, email address, country, age (for youth-gated roles), and — depending on your participation category — phone number, organisation, role, links, and free-text notes.
- Certificate activity: when a certificate is issued, emailed, or downloaded, including the IP address and browser user-agent at the time of download, kept as an anti-fraud audit trail.
- Attendance data: if you attend the Summit webinar, we receive your name, email, and time attended from Zoom to determine certificate eligibility.
Why we use it
- To process your registration and send you a confirmation and joining details.
- To keep you informed about the Summit and closely related updates.
- To verify attendance and issue your e-certificate of participation.
- To keep the service secure (rate limiting and the download audit log).
We rely on your consent, given at registration, as the basis for this processing. You can withdraw it at any time by contacting us.
Who we share it with
Your information is used by the BRICS Youth Alliance organising team and is not sold or shared with third parties outside the organising team, except for the service providers that operate the Summit on our behalf (our hosting provider, database, email delivery, and Zoom for the webinar), who process it only on our instructions.
How long we keep it
We retain registration and certificate records for the duration of the Summit programme and a reasonable period afterwards to support certificate re-issue and verification, then delete or anonymise them. You may ask us to delete your data sooner (see below).
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may withdraw consent to further communications. Email secretariat@bricsyouthalliance.org and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Cookies
The public site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. A single secure, HTTP-only cookie is used only inside the private administration area to keep an authenticated organiser signed in.
